The BIP Endotracheal tube Evac has been designed to reduce ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP). It combines subglottic secretion drainage with the clinically proven ability of the Bactiguard coating.
Subglottic secretion drainage (SSD)
Studies have examined the efficacy of subglottic secretion drainage and it has been found to reduce VAP with approximately 50%.1
A significant improvement in patient outcomes with the use of an endotracheal tube providing subglottic secretion drainage, including: 30% reduced of antibiotic use and reduced 9.5 days in ICU. Shortened duration of mechanical ventilation by 4 days.2
Less Microbial adhesion with Bactiguard coating
BIP Endotracheal Tube, BIP ETT (without SSD) has been proven to reduce microbial adhesion by 76-98% in vitro.13
In a clinical study on 100 patients comparing an uncoated endotracheal tube with BIP ETT (without SSD) it was concluded that the coating reduced the incidence of VAP by 67%.4
